We support adaptation through strategy and co-design.
Cobalt Engagement is dedicated to increasing resilience in our cities and regions using a place and people centred approach. We’re here to listen to you so we can develop the most effective strategies—together.
We specialise in providing tailored, co-designed, community focused engagement services to support urban and regional planning, infrastructure planning and development across the public and private sectors. Cobalt Engagement is a collaborative organisation that works with diverse people and perspectives to plan for our communities together.
Our regions and cities face significant challenges in adapting, preparing and thriving in a climate uncertain future.
Cobalt Engagement has been established to work with multidisciplinary teams, to support an equitable transition, and to build capacity to increase preparedness and resilience.

There is a lot of work to get done. Our approach prioritises people and drives meaningful change.
We specialise in designing and implementing a range of engagement activities that inform urban and regional planning, development, and resilience projects. As skilled planners, designers and facilitators, we tailor our strategies and processes to the community and stakeholders to ensure achievable outcomes that bring about positive change.
Co-design is a community and stakeholder engagement and design approach that has been adopted to guide the design process ‘with’ the community, not just ‘for’ them.
For us, this means starting collaborative workshops and engagement early in the project to ensure that local knowledge, insights and the lived experience of the community and stakeholders is integrated up front.
As experienced regional and urban planners, Cobalt Engagement designs and leads complex technical workshops in an accessible format for a wide variety of participants.
We support a Caring for Country approach in all our work, and we acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work and live; we are grateful for their continuing care and connection to culture, community, land, sea and sky.
